I nearly fell off my chair while reading this news in Malaysiakini by Samy Velu the one and only champion of Indians. He said that he will not be threatened even if the released Hindu Rights Action Force (Hindraf) leaders decide to form a political party. According to him, many Indian-based parties have emerged and fizzled out over the decades while MIC is still here and "In the last 64 years of MIC's existence so many Indian parties were formed, they formed, they talked, and after sometime they demised... it's not going to be a threat to us," he told reporters in Kuala Lumpur.

"MIC has a new way of doing things, new way of getting younger people to come and work with MIC now," he added. MIC launched its new portal in a bid to engage the internet-savvy young Indian Malaysians which will serve as the party's news organ and an online membership engine.Dai Samy, do you think by just using technology it is deemed that you and your cronies have changed? Get real bro!

Further more he said "The community can now interact and communicate with MIC anytime and anywhere in real time. We want to hear from the community, we want them to tell us what they want and how we could assist them."When we do mistakes, we want the community to let us know, advise us and make recommendations. This is the kind of relationship we want to have with the community," he added.

Hey Samy, for the last few decades that is what we’ve been doing and what do you do, you threaten leaders, close down branches, follow Mahathir’s footstep in getting rid of Deputies, swindle the Indian community money through MAIKA! Dai Samy it is not about using new technology but making the necessary change like you and your cronies in MIC resign enbloc and let others to lead the Indian community!

War on Bloggers

Recently the so called "UMNO Bloggers" suggest that a war should be waged against bloggers who are accused being irresponsible and that the government should deal with us the way the Sri Lankan government deals with the LTTE. What kind of @@@king statement is this? Isn’t this a seditious statement by the UMNO fellars?
What do they know about what is happening in Sri Lanka, nothing? They probably would read the Utusan Malaysia or Berita Harian and made conclusions. What do you expect from both these newspapers ,intelligent reporting? They’ll probably will ask how much is it per kilo? They are just a pea brained press, just read their front line or their editorials and you’ll know what I mean. They were never been called by the Home Minister on their articles which are blatantly seditious yet other newspapers were called in to “ menghadap”!
How can you justify killings of innocent civilian, women being raped, killing and chopping women and children to pieces and burning them while they are still alive in the name of politics? In one day alone 2000 people were killed and mainly women and children and you should be ashamed to even to mentioned that we bloggers should be dealt severely. Well I do understand that you neither have shame nor conscience. Why not you call the same about what happened in Bosnia or Palestine, why do you cry foul? I certainly condemn any form of violence against any race. What can we expect from you as you all do not even know what is going on in this country what more in Sri Lanka.
Hey, idiots we are not just talking about our rights but also of yours and your children. We are fighting for justice so that even your children will inherit a better Malaysia, which your leaders are robbing by the day. Do you know that in the last 28 years alone 100billion has gone missing, read the Stanley and Morgan report and it all happen during your beloved ”Bapa Visi 2020” why not you try to do a Sri Lankan on Stanley & Morgan for writing that report? No balls’ as usual right? If you want to do some good for your future generation go and questions your beloved leaders, I dare you if not just shut up! The government is screwing the rakyat at every given opportunity, the politician are doing it, the courts are doing it, the police is doing it and you expect us to do nothing and say great job? The Pride of our nation PDRM

The pride of our nation PDRM is raising the bar of their KPI; ialah the new metrics set by our PM to ensure high performance. They did indeed perform or shall I say out-performed any other government department and the credit goes the OIC and you know whom I'm referring to. Their outstanding performance is no small achievement which not only raised the rakyat’s eyebrow but also of the international media. In the name of “Malaysia Boleh” we once again proved to the world how we are capable in achieving great results that is awed by the outside world. Some of the PRDM achievements for your reading pleasure:
Case 1: It was reported in the STAR that several rogue policemen and members of a drug syndicate were involved in a shoot-out on Saturday following an unauthorised “raid”. The incident is believed to have occurred at around 4pm on Saturday at a condominium unit in Ampang where the officers from several departments had gone to meet the syndicate members. The shoot-out only came to light after one of the syndicate members was spotted in his blood-soaked clothes and found by the road side. A police report was subsequently lodged and an operation organised by Selangor police resulted in three arrests including that of two police officers. Sources said that police were investigating the reason for the clandestine raid and had not ruled out the possibility that the rogue policemen were trying to get protection money from the syndicate.
Case 2: In Perak assembly the legitimate speaker Sivakumar was physically dragged by several uniformed police personnel and forcibly removed him from the speaker's chair. He was then dragged out of the House by a group of plainclothes personnel wearing tags which read 'official'. Sivakumar resists and shouts, "I am the legal speaker. Why am I being treated like this?"
Case 3: 14 people were arrested at the Brickfields police station who had gathered to show support for activist Wong Chin Huat who was arrested under the Sedition Act last Wednesday allegedly participating in an illegal assembly. Some two hours later, six others were also taken in including lawyers who had come to assist those arrested earlier who were Fadiah, Syuhaini Safwan, Puspawati Rosman, Ravinder Singh and Murnie Hidayah Anuar.
Case 4: In Kuching, Sarawak, that Padungan state assemblyperson Dominique Ng was arrested together with 10 PKR members, which included his wife, Lim Phang Lian. Edil Rahmat, head of state PKR Youth movement and famous blogger Lina Soo were also arrested for taking part in an illegal assembly at the Kuching Waterfront when they lighted candles to observe a vigil for democracy in Perak.

They were arrested for wearing black T-shirts! It is a crime to wear black in Malaysia as anyone seen with one will be arrested immediately.

Case 5: Last week Bersih spokesperson Wong Chin Huat has been arrested under the Sedition Act by a team of police officers at his home in Taman Sri Sentosa in Kuala Lumpur. According to his lawyer Edmund Bon, the activist was arrested at 8pm after a police report was lodged today.
Case 6: A 23-year-old youth Kugan Ananthan was found dead in a police station, but no one has since been charged for his murder. Kugan, who was detained on Jan 15 at the Taipan police station in Subang for suspicion of being involved in luxury cars theft, died five days later while in custody. The cause of death was initially classified as sudden death caused by fluid accumulation in his lung yet the case took a twist as the first doctor report contradicted with the second and the second doctor’s specimen for further test were confiscated by the police. Aneh bin Ajaib! ( Strange s/o miracle). This is not the only case of detainees dying or missing while in custody as there are many cases which both PDRM and the Home Ministry have closed an eye ( tutup mata sebelah) for a long time.

There are many more but I do not want to bore you with too much details. I hear that Scotland Yard is befriending PRDM for joint trainings as their officer are without much action in their country. Bravo PDRM,for flying our flag high!

I am disappointed

I am really disappointed with what I saw and read about the fiasco that took place in Perak,
Before the court hearing about the legitimate Menteri Besar of Perak there was plot to outs the Pakatan Rakyat Government in Perak. I had lot of respect on for the Perak Sultan I when he was the Lord President but now he has lost all the respect I had for him. I have been reading that he collaborated with BN to save guard his daughter’s interest in GAMUDA. How low can can one become? There is a saying that we'll find out the true nature of man in testing times and indeed we did about him now. The next blow was his son, I thought after his speech some time ago during his father's birthday that he was somehow different, but he just showed to all Malaysian that he is just like his father! I have totally lost respect to the institution of monarchy as I do not want to go back to history to trace their beginning as it was a well known fact to all of their begining.
The police has shown utter disrespect to the law and to the state assembly proceedings. How can they be in the assembly hall and behave as barbarians; they dragged the legitimate speaker out of his chair. Simply appalling!
It is also a crime in Malaysia to wear black and you'll be arrested or for simply having a drink in a restaurant. Worst still as usual the new PM, Home Minister( not the botak fellow) and as usual the guy who won the youth leadership but not given any ministerial position has something to say as they all commended the action by the police.
I guess it is time for the rakyat to wake up and do something; Gandhi used non cooperation as his tool to bring down the British but my guess is that it worked then as the British were civilized people unlike the Malaysian Government!
The history books are watching, beware and be warned!

When Police Stops You:Know Your Rights

I read this article in MT and it is very useful for us all. When you are being arrested by police, do nit panic!Malaysia is becoming state as an alarming number of arrests over the past week related to the detention of Wong Chin Huat and the Perak State Assembly, ordinary citizens, protesters, and even lawyers have been hauled up. However, many are oblivious about their rights upon being arrested, which could lead one to be intimidated or abused by the police.

The Edge Malaysia gives readers a summary from the Bar Council's Red Book, which advises Malaysians what they should do if they are arrested by the police.

What can you do when you are arrestd?
Stop!
If stopped by a police officer not in uniform, one should ask the officer to produce his/her Police authority card, which denotes the officer's rank and name:

Types of police authority cards
Red: Suspended police officer, who has no authority to do anything to you.
Blue: Inspector and above
Yellow: Below rank of inspector
White: Reserve police
Always note the name and ID of the police officer.

On being stopped, you are only obliged to give Personal Particulars: full name, age, address, and occupation.

Am I under arrest?
If the officer continues to ask for more, you can ask “Am I being arrested?” before proceeding. You are arrested if the officer says yes, doesn't allow you to leave, wants to take you to the police station, or handcuffs you.
Before arresting you, however, the officer must give a reason for the arrest. Also, the officer cannot arrest you if you are only deemed a potential witness or want to take a statement.

Post-arrest
If you are arrested, you do have several rights that you should exercise. The first thing you should do is make a call to inform a relative or friend, as well as find legal counsel.
The Legal Aid Centre (details below) is an alternative resource should you not have a personal lawyer to contact.
Inform the following details of the time, place, and reason for the arrest, as well as the Police station that you are taken to.
Once a presence of a lawyer is requested, you have a right to consult the lawyer before giving a statement to the police.
Other Rights
- You are allowed to have one set of clothing with you in lock-up
- Personal belongings are to be recorded, placed in safe custody, and returned upon release.
- You are allowed to bathe twice a day, and have access to medical attention, food and water.

Doing time
The police can detain you for up to 24 hours only.
For any period longer than that, the police have to obtain a Remand Order from a Magistrate, to whom the police must give reasons why it is necessary to detain you for more than 24 hours.

Questioning
A person under arrest does have a right to remain silent by answering the questioning officer “I will answer that in court.”
In giving a statement (known as a 112 Statement), it is advised that you have a lawyer present. You also have the right to refuse to answer a question if the answer is likely to incriminate yourself.
The statement given here can/will be used against you in court to prove that you have admitted or confessed to committing the criminal offense charged, or admitted to certain facts that tend to show you are guilty of the offense charged.
During this time, the Bar Council advises you to do the following:
- Bring along a notebook or writing paper, writing down every question asked. If you don't have a notebook and/or pen, request for them.
- After carefully considering each question, write down your answers before reading them to the police officer.
- Before signing to confirm the 112 Statement, compare it against what you have written down in your personal notes. You have to right to correct or change the statement before signing it.
- If you have been threatened, beaten or forced to make a statement, it's within your rights to lodge a police report against the offending officer.
- What you have said in the statement can/will be used against you in court to prove that you have admitted or confessed to committing the criminal offense charged, or admitted to certain facts that tend to show you are guilty of the offense charged.

Body Search
A police officer can perform a body search upon arrest if they suspect you have evidence relating to a suspected offense.
However, it is advised that you request the body search be done while accompanied by a lawyer. The search must be done in a confined place, and it is within your rights to be searched in private. Only a female police officer can conduct a body search on females.

There are four types of body searches:
1. Pat down search, where only the outer clothing is searched
2. Strip search, which is done to search for concealed evidence, object, contraband or weapon. This can only be conducted with the authorisation of an officer ranked inspector and above ( i.e., those with blue Police Authority Cards).
3. Intimate search, where a search is conducted beyond the mouth, nose, and ears. This can only be conducted with the authorisation of an officer ranked Assistant Superintendent and above.
4. Intrusive search, which is done to find objects in the body. This can only be conducted with the authorisation of the Officer in charge of the Police District and must be carried out by a Government Medical Officer or Medical Officer.

Democracy Died in Perak

The law and freedom in this country died today or rather killed or should I say C4ed by the present government! If you read the events that were unfolding recently in Malaysia it makes one wonder if we are in Zimbabwe. Today the legitimate Perak Speaker was forcibly dragged and removed his chair by several uniformed police personnel.


Malaysikini quoted that he was then dragged out of the House by a group of plainclothes personnel wearing tags which read 'official'. Sivakumar resists and shouted, "I am the legal speaker. Why am I being treated like this?" It cannot be ascertained if these were police personnel. Does this mean that anyone with tag can enter the assembly hall but not some MP’s who had an invitation from the speaker?

Sivakumar also added that the state legal advisor and the sergeant-at-arms refused to follow his orders and frustrated his attempts to convene a proper sitting however very willing to enforce Ganesan's order to remove him. They even switched off the speaker’s microphone! We know whom they were working for don’t we?
Anyway all is not lost as it is a good lesson for the rakyat as it paved way the opposition was looking for;
1) The Parliament speaker, what his name Pendikar can be dragged to court for misusing his power vested upon him by suspending Gobind Deo
2) He can be dragged off his chair if he refuses to remove himself
3) If he is still adamant his microphone can be turned off
4) Strangers with a tag can walk in and drag him off

Good thing that the BN government has shown the way how to topple the government. Let me think if only Sabah & Sarawak MPs’ switch camps? Does anyone know of the list that Anwar mentioned sometime ago? Malaysia Boleh! Malaysia Boleh! Malaysia Boleh!
