Another Conversion Case

The Syariah High Court has ruled that deceased art director Mohan Singh was a Muslim at the time of his death on May 25 and should be buried according to Muslim rites. Syariah High Court judge Justice Mohamad Khalid Shaee @ Shaii ruled that Mohan Singh’s conversion was valid after hearing testimony from five witnesses and examining the documents brought before the court yesterday. He issued the order in chambers, allowing the application by the Selangor Islamic Religious Council (Mais) to handle the funeral of the deceased and also ordered the Sungai Buloh Hospital director to hand over Mohan Singh’s body to Mais. There could be hundreds of divorce cases been postpone for years by the Syariah Court, at least I know a few such cases! Why are they trigger happy with this conversation cases?
However, the deceased’s family claimed that the 41-year-old who died of a heart attack, had neither converted nor practised Islam, adding that he practised Sikhism and had performed the last rites for his late mother three years ago. On Wednesday, they filed for a judicial review at the civil High Court here against the Sungai Buloh Hospital’s decision not to release Mohan Singh’s body to be cremated according to Sikh rites.
There goes another case of body snatching and why is that the government dragging their feet on such issues? Isn’t this conversion issues a major problem among the different religious practitioners? What the heck is the government waiting for? Why is that the Syariah Court “Gung Ho” about issuing orders without thinking of the sensitivity others? This is not the very first case, there were numerous other cases pending court decision and the question is to which court shall the impcated people go to Syariah or Civil. Such a big headache that is making peoples lives miserable. Wonder is this is Najib’s 1 Malaysia concept!

3)Transport Minister Ong Tee Keat today said the government will not bow to opposition's calls for a closure of the Port Klang Free Zone (PKFZ), despite the damning disclosure last week following the release of an audit report by PriceWaterhouseCoopers (PwC). The original estimated cost for the land purchase and development works in 2001 was RM1.957 billion ... (the) project outlay has escalated to RM3.522 billion as at Dec 31, 2008."Interest cost of the deferred payments to KDSB (Kuala Dimensi Sdn Bhd) amounted to RM1.425 billion resulting in a total project outlay of RM4.947 billion," the report stated. 4) Nizar calims that"We have yet to receive the written grounds of judgment (from the Court of Appeals). Still, we may file the appeal on Monday (June 8) at Federal Court after discussion on the matter with my lawyers," Court of Appeals judge Md Raus Sharif had earlier said the written judgment would be released on May 29.However, a fax from the Court of Appeals office dated June 1 stated that the judges are still in the process of preparing the written judgment, said Nizar's lawyer Leong Cheok Keng. Hello...who is writting the judgment, dah outsource kot!

5)MIC president S Samy Vellu today called for the writer of an offensive article published in the Umno-owned Utusan Malaysia to be charged with sedition.
"I deplore the racial slur made by the writer of the local Malay daily where he had indirectly referred to the Chinese and Indians of Malaysia as 'kaum pendatang' (immigrants). "It is most disgusting, despicable and shocking. I suspect the writer is not part of the newspaper, but has been using it (the newspaper) to promote his own agenda," he said in a statement. Samy...samy calling samy...are you there? After 28 years baru nak buka mulut, oops sorry first time reading Utusan Malaysia all the while Tamil Nesan. My apologies Samy!

Enough of the good news now for the bad news, I am getting sick and tired of writting political news nak try " Mountain Biking" pula....boringlah nothing exciting happening all very, very quiet!

The PKFZ Scandal

In the spirit of Malaysia Boleh we did it again. Another waste of public fund and another cover up I suppose! The cost shoot up from a mere RM 513 Million to RM 4.63 billion and the losses could be as high as RM 12 Billion! Does this mean that part of the RM 60 billion stimulus package may be used for the failing project?
By the look at the case, it just makes one sick of the present state of the country or the leadership. Why are they are covering up? Who are the real culprits? Some facts for your consideration:

1)PKA bought the land from Kuala Dimensi for an amount of RM 1.08 billion which had bought it for a mere RM 95 million only. The price went up ten times the original value!
2)Any way, PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) audit report on the Port Klang Free Zone (PKFZ) fiasco has claimed that have long been reported that serious shortcomings, irregularities and abuses have from the very beginning plagued the publicly-funded project but it was swept aside by the government. Wonder why?
3)Why is the report is restricted to ONLY 15 hard copies?
4)PwC has not only stated that it is not obliged to respond to any queries, and does not owe a duty of care to any party other than PKA, but has also stipulated that readers are not authorised to use or rely on the report to arrive at any conclusion! What and who are they covering up?
5)Wijaya Baru Holdings Sdn Bhd (WBHSB) Deputy CEO Faizal Abdullah said the audit report had ‘mischievously' left out certain information and this omission was damaging to his company and questioned the integrity of the audit report issued by international firm Pricewaterhouse Coopers (PwC).
6)But will there be serious action taken against all those responsible for the shortcomings, irregularities and abuses in the scandal? If there is such action, to what extent and to what level will it be taken against these individuals
7)Bursa Malaysia had “reprimanded” the PKFZ developer in 2006 when it failed to inform the stock exchange and obtain the consent of its shareholders on the disposal of the land. Why no action was taken against PKFZ.
8)Numerous reports were made against PKFZ to the Anti-Corruption Agency but nothing has come out of it and even the Parliament Public Accounts Committee (under Johor Baru MP Shahrir Samad then) looked into the matter as well, but no action was taken!

So what is the cover up here, why is that the present Transport Minister gave “narrow terms of reference” as guidelines for PwC to audit? Why is the last two former transport ministers not questioned? Why the government nor the finance ministry did anything all this while even provided letter of support for a RM 4 Billion bonds by Kuala Dimensi? We will never get to the truth as “ the truth is somewhere out there” just like the X-Files!

3)Teratai assemblyperson Jenice Lee and 15 others were arrested at about 8.45pm on Thursday night after for holding a candlelight vigil outside Lee's service centre to mourn the 'death of democracy' in Perak. The vigil was organised by Pandan DAP Youth wing.

4)The police yesterday raided the DAP headquarters in Petaling Jaya in search of documents believed to be related to the arrest of the 16.The raid, which took place at 6.25pm, was carried out by a team of 11 police officers. They left at 7.30pm. The police had brought along Ooi (in orange lock-up uniform), who is also DAP Youth's political education bureau director, in the raid and confiscated his computer monitor, keyboard, headphone, a number of CDs and a CPU (central processing unit).
First time in history, HQ political kena serbu. Conclusion memang Malaysia police state!

5)Malaysian Indian United Party (MIUP) president KS Nallakaruppan said that the opposition leaders, especially from the Indian community, were still cheating and telling lies to the Indian community.

6)The Court of Appeal yesterday allowed Zambry’s appeal and reversed the earlier Kuala Lumpur High Court decision which declared PAS leader Nizar as the rightful menteri besar of Perak.
Now does that mean that the sultan has prerogative rights to decide the MB then, in that case can the Agung decide on our PM?

7)Fast track approval for another Indian based political party, Makkal Shakti party by Thanenthiran? Come on, admit it – it’s absolutely stunning, isn’t it? What efficiency and preciseness! Bravo Malaysia.

Nallakaruppan' s words of wisdom

This is what was quoted by Malaysiakini “ Malaysian Indian United Party (MIUP) president KS Nallakaruppan said that the opposition leaders, especially from the Indian community, were still cheating and telling lies to the Indian community. A pro-BN Indian community politician today condemned the opposition party leaders for continuing to propagate that Indians in this country were being sidelined.
"We agree that there were some problems of Indians being neglected previously but the Barisan Nasional government has acknowledged this and is in the midst of changing the situation,"
Only after 52 years the government has realized this, what were they doing all this years? I was wondering what help did the government gave to the Indian community so far as I have not received any being a Malaysian Indian? The recent ASW was not even allocated properly as it was grabbed within hours as it was categorised as bumi and non-bumi! Bro, you need fair distribution if he need any benckmark just look at Singapore, by the way do you read?
He said that the BN government had allocated a large tract of money for the Indian community, including for the betterment of Tamil schools and training skills for the youths, so that positive developments could be achieved.
Hello, Nalla, where is the large tract of cash that you have mentioned, who’s coffer has it gone into?

He further questioned "They also have five states. What have they done for the Indians in these states?
Bro, we know what they are doing, by the way why is that the taxes collected from these states were never re-channeled back?
For 52 years the Malaysian Indian community were neglected and now you talk about the government is doing their bit, and it all happened because of Hindraf awakening and neither because of you nor any other Indian based political party. Dai Nalla, you talk rubbish,so bud off!

The Pendatang joke from Penang

I received this joke as a request from one of my readers to post it on my blog, for youoe reading pleasure.

Ahmad: Hey son, who were you talking to ?
Son: My fairy godmother.
Ahmad: How many times have I told you there is no such thing as a fairy godmother ?
Son: I know but there really is a fairy godmother, Dad.

The Cycling Escapade

Today I am not going to write about politics as the Malaysian politics really sucks and makes me puke after witnessing the crap what is happening at this moment, I am giving it a pass. I found a new passion through a good buddy of mine Yazid ( I hope he is good buddy) well we used to work for the same employee for a while until he left for a better career elsewhere, good for him. Sometime last month he enticed me with the idea of going ‘biking’ and I thought that is nothing as I have cycled during my school days so thought it should be an easy meat to bite. So I met him at his place at 7.30am and was introduced to Arthur who happens to be my colleague as well. So Yazid, his son Yusoff, Arthur and me cycled out of his house, little did I know about cycles with gears so after a few meters we came to an uphill road so using my physical strength I paddled and paddled until I lost view of the rest of them. Shamelessly I stopped and pushed my bike until I reached the top of the slope and mind you we were till cycling around the housing area and once I reached the top I sat on my bike and went downhill, boy was is it fun.
They took me to a path leading towards a hill, and we psyched ourselves and took off one by one and I was the last to go as I do not want to embarrass myself. Little did I realized that it was not an easy feat to do mountain biking, my goodness the path was a difficult with steep slopes going up hill and downhill. It was just too much for me I stopped and started pushing the bike until I reached the half way point grasping for breath. I remembered during one of my Toastmaster Speech competition I talked about physical fitness, when I first started exercising it felt like someone just poured burning charcoal into my lungs. That was exactly what I felt the first time I went up the hill, oh boy..talking about pain, my thighs practically begged me to stop, my bottoms felt numb due to the seat which was hard as rock. I remember that I stopped three times on my way to the mid way point and upon reaching the shelter I sat down grasping for air. I asked the guys if we have reached the end of the trail, they said “Yes,we did just reached half way point”. Oh my god, what did I got myself into, why did I allow Yazid to talk me into this? I must be out of my mind or was it a mid life crisis like the movie “Wild Hogs” starring Tim Allen, John Travolta, Martin Lawrence and William Macy about four middle-aged friends hitting the road to get away from their routine life!
Back to our cycling escapade, Arthur being the experienced biker amongst us was our motivator urging us on saying that the peak is around the corner so we believed him or rather allowed him to convince us that the trail is coming to an end. Little did we know that this is also his first time on this trail that we took. So we went on another round of steep path panting and puffing and as usual pushing the bike again and again whenever we ran out of steam. The most embarrassing part was that Yazid’s son who is only 14 years old had more energy than any of us and he was cooling enjoying the fast ride while his father had to contain his excitement by giving him direction to slow down. I reckon he did not want to be seen beaten by his 14 year old. Talking about parenting! Finally Arthur called it a day once he was not sure where the path would end hence we turned back, good gracious finally we were turning back! What a relief.
The ride down hill was really sheer excitement to all of us, we enjoyed the trip back as it was fast ride through the narrow winding path allowing the bikes to screech . I was holding on to my dear life yet not giving up the fast trip down hill not wanting to miss any of the fun that the other guys were enjoying. By the way most of us did with not even had biking gears; helmet, knee and elbow pad! Talking about living on the edge, we truly did live it, it was both an exhilarating and an adrenalin rush experience. Upon completing the journey, we went to a food court for “Teh Tarik” and “Roti Canai” to reward our achievement for the day. We parted after breakfast promising to meet the following Saturday for another trip to punish both our body and mind!
When I reached home every inch of my body ached as I laid my battered body on the bamboo mat moaning and groaning complaining to my better half! I looked up at the spinning fan recapturing the moments with smile on my face! Looking forward to our next ride.
