It has been a while I have not written anything on my blog, for various reasons! My first thought penned here! My experience renewing my road tax. Little did i foresee that I need to learn to be patient when I renew my annual road tax. I went to the post office to renew my road tax hoping to complete by lunch time. I took the number and sat for 15minutes and only to be told that the JPJ system is off-line. The guy just pointed to the notice that was place at his counter when I approached him. Can't they just place the notice at the place where the customer take the number. Waste of time! Hence I went to JPJ, but no one was at the counter to issue the numbers , so I tried to reach for the machine to get the number, suddently someone hailed out " Apa you mahu?" I told him "Nak nombor bang, he gave me one and said "hari ini hari jumaat, orang pergi sembayang dan tarak orang di kaunter". The going number was 2091 and mine was 2167, at that juncture there were two counters operating, thought it would not take much of my time as It was 12.32pm, so I waited for while to finished the task and go for lunch later. Then they closed the two counters and no one was manning the counter for 5mins, than a lady came to set up her desk. and was manning one counter. I waited until 2.30pm for my number to be called. Being Friday, the notice mentioned "rehat" from 12.15pm to 2.45pm, but also mentioned 'Kaunter Buka" during that time. The question is, if "Rehat" 12.15pm to 2.45pm, why mentioned "kaunter buka"? If "Kaunter Buka", why only one officer manning the counter. They know very well Friday being the day our Muslim friends go for their prayers. Either place more officer at the counter during the break time or rotate staff during peak hours as it is a known fact that Friday's is a day for prayer for our Muslim brothers! Common sense does not prevail when it matters most, waste of people's time where we could channel them into more productive activities. Talking about in-competencies, wonder if this is the true reflection of our country's civil service? Any thoughts?
