In the name of god

Shariatpur, Bangladesh (CNN) -- Hena Akhter's a 14 year old girl was found guilty of having an affair with a married man and sentence to 101 lashes, She dropped after the 70th stroke and was rushed to the hospital bloodied and bruised, where she died a week later. The imam from the local mosque ordered the fatwa, or religious ruling, and the punishment 101 lashes delivered swiftly and deliberately in public. The initial autopsy report cited no injuries and deemed her death a suicide. Hena's family insisted her body be exhumed. Alya, Hena sister said that Hena was walking from her room to an outdoor toilet when Mahbub Khan gagged her with cloth, forced her behind nearby shrubbery and beat and raped her.Hena Akhter's last words to her mother proclaimed her innocence and the family wants the world to know what really happened to their daughter
Take the religion out of this issue, on a humanitarian ground how could the so called religious and pious Iman order 101 lashes on a 14 year old girl. What kind of religion is that which orders such a punishment upon a young girl? What compassionate and merciful god are they referring to? Is this the kind of religion that mankind needs? Or is it man’s interpretation of religion in ignorance!
